ShaKenya Edison, M.Ed., PPS
Leadership Practitoner 

ShaKenya Edison is a leadership practitioner committed to establishing just educational systems, with high expectations, vertical and horizontal accountability, and shared responsibility in improving student outcomes and experiences. She has served in various capacities in education, including: Assistant Superintendent, Director of Student Services, Counselor, After-School Program Coordinator, and Safe School Coordinator. Her dedication to improving life outcomes for youth has moved her to serve in various leadership roles in both city and county community initiatives, including, but not limited to: youth violence prevention, school attendance, juvenile justice, law enforcement's role on K-12 campuses, county system collaboratives, gang prevention, and school discipline disproportionality.  â€‹Her expertise includes, but is not limited to: results-based facilitation and coaching; K-12  due process, policies and practices; law enforcement's role on school campuses; convening and partnering with community stakeholders to co-create strategies and align contributions; social-emotional learning, and integrated mental health services;  multi-tiered system of support; disproportionality;  and UCP and Title IX investigations.

Through Edison Educational Consulting, she remains committed to improving systems through building capacity in leaders to lead people differently, equitably distribute resources, and implement just policies and practices that remove barriers for the most burdened students.  Additionally, Edison Educational Consulting centers co-creating and aligning contributions with all stakeholders to accelerate and sustain results.

In recognition of her commitment and results, ShaKenya Edison was the recipient of the Association of California School Administrators’ Region 9 Pupil Personnel Administrator of the Year Award, NAACP's Smith/Carlos Award, and Santa Clara Association of Black Educator's Administrator of the Year Award, to name a few.
